Tulsa's June 2000 Auction
Spring Fever has arrived for car collectors and enthusiasts as Leake Auction gets in high gear for one of the nation’s oldest and largest automotive events in Tulsa with the Leake Collector Car Show & Auction showcasing 600 cars for sale on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, June 2, 3 & 4 at Tulsa’s Expo Square. Over 30,000 people attend this event, which takes place at one of the largest indoor facilities in the U.S. - quite the backdrop! The Auction starts at 11:00 am on Friday, 10:00 am on Saturday and Sunday.
Enthusiasts from across America and around the world come to Tulsa for this premier automotive auction now in its 28th year. Owners this year have consigned a large number of very interesting cars including:
The oldest car is a 1904 Commercial Car, and the two newest cars are a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2000 Plymouth Prowler. Great Classics from the 20’s and 30’s include Auburn, Cadillac and Packard. For those with a military mind, the 1943 Military Half Track might be just the answer. There are lots of muscle cars from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s including Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth and Pontiac. For the lover of exotics and high performance cars, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches will cross the auction block as well. Hot Rods and Customs continue to grow in popularity and there is a great selection at this year’s auction!
Auction spokesman Richard Sevenoaks is most enthusiastic about the current collector car market. “This is a great time to buy a car. The market is strong and interest in collector cars is at an all time high.”
