Kruse-Leake Collector Car Auction Promises More Excitement Than an Oklahoma Twister
Oklahoma City, Okla. (February 2, 2004) -- Kruse International and Leake Auction Company will return to Oklahoma City on February 20 & 21, 2004. The 20th annual Oklahoma City Collector Car Auction will feature 300 collector vehicles, and the event’s sponsors promise that it will generate more excitement than an Oklahoma twister.
The auction will take place at the Oklahoma State Fairground’s Transportation Building and is open to the public. The auction will begin at 3:00PM on Friday and 10:00AM on Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Top sales at last year’s event included a 1941 Willys Coupe $39,250; a 1958 Chevrolet Impala Two Door Hardtop $35,000; a 1971 Dodge Superbee $33,750; 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS $33,500; and a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette $30,500.
According to Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company, this year’s selection is sure to please almost any collector. Vehicles of note include:
- 1955 Chevrolet Custom Bel Air 2 Dr HT
- 1936 Plymouth Street Rod Coupe
- 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible
- 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe
- 1969 Dodge Charger R/T hemi
- 1965 Ford Mustang Indy Pace Car
- 1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback
- 1946 Ford 5-Window Coupe Street Rod, featured in Street Rodder magazine
“Low interest rates and high prices are the rule of the market. As a result, we have an excellent selection of Chevy Camaros, Chevelles and Corvettes with lots of great trucks and an outstanding selection of rods and customs….just what today’s collector wants to buy,” Sevenoaks said.
